Women's Soccer Season Recap
The Huskies Women's Soccer Team finished the 2024 Season against Five Towns College with the Huskies winning 5-1. The Huskies finished the season with 5-5-1 record and a 1-5-1 record in their first season in the Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC). The Huskies 5 wins this season was the most victories for the program in their history.
The Huskies started off the season 0-2 but were able to secure a 9-1 victory over Bay Path with 3 goals from Annie Baer & 2 goals from Avery Connor, & 4 others scored during the game. The Huskies would go on to win 2 of their next 3 games with wins over Holyoke C.C. 2-0 and Penn State – Hazleton 7-1. Avery Connor would score twice in the game against Holyoke and 4 against Penn State–Hazleton. The Huskies would also go unbeaten in 3 of their last 4 games with a 2-2 tie against Maine-Augusta, a close 1-0 loss to Central Maine C.C., and wins over Vermont State – Randolph 7-0, & 5-1 over Five Towns College.
The Huskies as mentioned before, won 5 games for the first time in program history. There are some more program records that were broken during the 2024 season.
Avery Connor scored 4 goals twice this season (9/25 against Penn State – Hazleton and 10/15 against Vermont State – Randolph) which is tied for the most goals scored in a game.
Avery Connor scored 15 goals which set the single season and career record.
Avery Connor recorded 2 Hat-Tricks which is the most by 1 player in program history (season & career).
Ryleigh Gangarossa recorded 5 wins and a GAA of 2.02 which sets both records for a single season for goalkeepers.
The team scored a program-record 34 goals in the season as a team.
