Albany, NY – The Huskies fell to 0-2 this season against the Panthers from Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences on Wednesday evening. Both teams kept the game close throughout the first half and well into the second. But the Panthers pulled away and picked up their 14th win of the season, 74-59.
Junior center, Brett Richards, proved to be too much to handle for the Huskies down low. Richards scored 21 of his game-leading 26 points in the second half. By the end of the game, the Panthers had outscored the Huskies in the paint, 46-32.
After a slow shooting start for the Huskies, they turned it around in the second half shooting 46.4% from the field. The Huskies also got a balanced scoring attack from their starters. Four of their starters scored in double figures: Efraim Marvin (10), Lukas Parschauer (11), Hayden Jordan (12), and Dan Morales (12). Hayden Grant was one shy of joining the rest of the starters in double figures. Lukas Parschauer recorded a double-double with 11 rebounds.
