Huskies Unable to Close on the Road
Concord, NH – The Huskies looked to move to 2-0 against the NHTI Lynx on Saturday afternoon. The two teams played early in the season in a game that ended with a 13-point victory for the Huskies. The Lynx were hoping to return the favor on their home court.
The Huskies came out firing and quickly built an 8-point lead early in the first half. Hayden Jordan knocked down a couple of three-pointers, while Javion Glenn added his own to give them the earlier cushion. However, the Lynx switched to a full-court press and the Huskies struggled to figure it out. By half-time, the Lynx had a 31-27 lead.
The second half was filled with several lead changes and ties as both teams looked to take control. With a 67-66 lead, the Lynx hit a three-pointer with just over 1 minute to play and this was all they needed to defend their home court and secure the win.
For a second straight game, the Huskies had a balanced scoring attack led by Hayden Jordan with 17 points. Three other Huskies joined him in double figures: Javion Glenn (14), Efraim Marvin (12), and Dan Morales (10). Blake Gossel added 9 points off the bench. The Huskies struggled taking care of the ball with 22 turnovers leading to 27 points for the Lynx.
The Huskies will look to have a short memory as they host the Knights from Vermont State University Randolph on Wednesday, February 5th.
