The Word of Life Bible Institute Huskies traveled to Brighton, Massachusetts to face Fisher College Falcons in a Wednesday afternoon doubleheader. The Falcons got off to a quick start in game 1, scoring 8 runs in the 1st inning. The Falcons would add 9 more in the 3rd inning and 2 more in the 4th inning before finishing off a 5-inning no-hitter thrown by Madison Kelley. Kelley also earned her first win of the season inside the pitcher's circle. On the Huskies' side, Chloe Bathea made some good defensive plays at Short Stop to help the Huskies out on the field. The Final in Game 1 was 19-0 in favor of Fisher College.
In game 2, it was more of the same for the Huskies. While the Huskies threatened the Falcons with a bases-loaded opportunity with 1 out in the 2nd inning, and Kayli Hayden picked up the first hit of the day with a single to start making some noise for the Huskies on Offense. Unfortunately for the Huskies, they were unable to score a run. The Falcons played the same way in game 2, taking a good strong lead early and never looking back as Letty Chavez-Rendon tossed a 1-hit shutout in a 26-0 victory for a doubleheader sweep for the Fisher College Falcons.
The Huskies' next doubleheader is scheduled for Saturday, April 1st at Bay Path University starting at 1 pm. And the 2nd game taking place at 3 pm.
