The Huskies traveled down to the Catskills Region south of Albany to face Columbia-Greene Community College Twins. The Huskies traveled down there to play their final doubleheader games of the 2023 season and looked for something good to end the season on. The Weather played a factor in today's games with it reaching a scorching 90 degrees at one point during the game.
The first game went by quickly, with both teams struggling to do much offensively. The Twins managed to add 3 runs in the first 3 innings before blowing the game wide open with a 14-run 4th inning. The Huskies would not be able to recover from the damage and fell 17-0.
Game 2 was more of the same for the Twins, they got off to a quick start and never looked back. The Huskies were able to make some noise scoring 1 in each of the first 2 innings of the game. The Twins put on a heavy amount of runs during the game scoring 5 or more runs in 3 of the 5 innings played. The Huskies tacked on 2 more runs before the final out was recorded in a 20-4 defeat.
The Huskies fell to 0-10 to end the 2023 softball season. The Huskies in year 2 of the program is making progress and look forward to what the future has in store. For now, the Huskies would like to thank you for your support this season and we look forward to having softball back in 2024!
