Huskies Advance to WNIT Championship

The Word of Life Bible Institute Huskies traveled to Mount Hope, West Virginia to participate in the 2023 Bible College Women's National Invitational Tournament (WNIT). The Huskies were awarded the number 2 seed and will play the number 3 seed Appalachian Bible College Warriors in the Semi-Final Game Thursday evening.

The Huskies got off to a good start in the first quarter taking an 8-2 lead in the first 3:35 of the game and were able to stretch it to a 12-5 lead to end the 1^st Quarter. The Warriors started mounting a comeback in the second quarter which cut the Huskies' lead down to 19-17 heading into the halftime break.

The 3^rd Quarter got started with the Huskies gradually taking a run that took them to over double what they had in the first half, taking a 42-31 lead into the 4^th Quarter. Once again, the Warriors mounted a comeback in the 4^th Quarter, but the Huskies were able to salvage the game and hang on to a 49-42 victory over the Warriors.

The Huskies will face off against the winner of (4) Patrick Henry and (1) Trinity College (FL) for the WNIT Championship Game on Saturday, February 18, at 4 pm at Appalachian Bible College.
