The Word of Life Bible Institute Huskies traveled to Dix Hills, New York for the 2023 HVIAC Semi-Final Game as the number 2 seed and played the number 3 seed Berkeley College Knights. The winner will play the top-seeded Villa Maria Vikings in the Women's HVIAC Championship Game on Sunday, February 26th.
The game started off with both teams scoring, the Knights were able to take a 45-35 lead into the halftime break after a lot of back and forth. The Huskies led by Kayli Hayden and MJ Buck were able to trim the Knight's lead down to as low as 5 points in the 3rd Quarter, but the Knights took over the game in the 4th Quarter and were led by Amal Mahmoud who led the game with 50 points, 18 rebounds, and 5 assists as the Knights defeated the Huskies 92-65. Hayden and Buck led the Huskies in scoring 24 and 21 points respectively.
The Word of Life Huskies finish the season with a 5-13 record (1-2 in HVIAC) with a trip to the HVIAC Semi-Final and finishing 2nd place at the 2023 Bible College WNIT.
