Huskies Earn East Coast Sweep

Mount Hope, WV – February 12, 2026 – Word of Life capped its road swing with a balanced offensive effort and another lockdown defensive showing, rolling to a 68–38 win at Appalachian Bible on Thursday afternoon.​

Game flow

• The Huskies raced out to a 19–7 lead after the first quarter and carried a 31–16 advantage into halftime behind efficient inside scoring and active defense.​
• Word of Life continued to extend the margin with a 14–14 third quarter and a dominant 23–8 fourth, outscoring Appalachian Bible in every period.​
• The visitors' 37–22 second-half surge turned a comfortable lead into a decisive 30-point victory.​

Team numbers

• Word of Life shot 28-of-76 from the field (36.8 percent), including 6-of-22 from three and 6-of-10 at the foul line, to finish with 68 points.​
• The Huskies forced 24 turnovers and collected 18 steals, turning defense into transition opportunities while assisting on 17 made baskets.​
• Appalachian Bible was limited to 11-of-63 shooting overall (17.5 percent), 3-of-27 from deep (11.1 percent), and 13-of-22 at the line, despite owning a 49–40 edge on the glass.​

Word of Life leaders

• Ellie Rishel delivered a near triple-double with 17 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, and five steals in 37 minutes to pace the Huskies.​
• Stephanie Augusta and Autumn Bone each finished with 11 and 10 points, respectively, combining for 10 rebounds and six assists to give Word of Life multiple scoring options.​
• Eva Penning added 10 points, eight rebounds, five assists, and four steals in a well-rounded performance, while Sloan Clark chipped in 11 points, including two threes and 3-of-5 free throws.​
• Jordyn Wilkins hit two threes on her way to six points and seven rebounds, and Regan George provided a spark with a three-pointer off the bench.​

Opponent highlights

• Appalachian Bible was led by Kirsten Hughes and Emma Serkosky with 10 points each, combining for three made threes and seven rebounds.​
• Alexxis Keiffer worked inside for nine points and 10 rebounds, while Grace Lanka posted six points and a game-high 15 rebounds.​
• Despite four players grabbing eight or more boards, Appalachian Bible could not overcome its shooting struggles against the Huskies' pressure and half-court defense.​
