Huskies Make Statement to Open Season
Altamont, NY—The Word of Life Bible Institute Huskies Opened the 2023 Cross-Country Season at the ACPHS Orchard Opener 5K at Indian Ladder Farms on Saturday Morning. For the Women's Side, the Huskies took 2nd place out of the 4 schools participating as a team, with a team overall time of 2:15:11 during the duration of the contest. Huskies Freshman Angelina Pusateri placed 3rd overall in the Women's contest with a time of 21:23.3 helping lead the team to a second place finish. Marlene Bowers and Isabelle Chase would place 10th and 11th overall, and Jaslove Wood would place 14th among the 26 runners.
For the Men's 5K, the Huskies took home 1st place to start the season. The Huskies won narrowly with a score being 30, being 7 better than the next school and a total time of 2 minutes better than second place. The Huskies dominated the top 5 with Derek Tewksbury placing 2nd place, Tyler Meyer placing 3rd, and Daniel Bubar placing 4th. The Huskies also got another top 10 finish with Jared Templin placing 9th. The Huskies had all 7 runners in the top 20 in the men's 5K run.
The Huskies will feature their in the Maple Syrup Challenge hosted by Vermont Tech on Saturday, September 9th.
